List of the most important things you should do when you first enter into dark orbit

This is a list of things that you should make high priority when you first start playing Dark Orbit.
  1. Do all of the things that it tells you to do when you first make your account: if you do, the game will reward the the liberator which is a good ship to be starting with.
  2. Don't worry about ammo so much until it starts to get really low because it can be annoying to buy it over and over again. Also, I find that if you buy a lot of ammo at one time it feels like you spend less then you do if you go and buy small amounts a lot.
  3. Try to do what ever you can to stay alive to conserve your Uridium supply.
  4. Make sure you always have at least 100 rockets of any kind.
  5. The game awards you a large amount of credits early on in the starting zone and "tutorial" so it will be easy to upgrade to a better ship relatively quickly. Personally, I saved up 250,000 at the start and then bought the Bigboy Battle-cruiser which is 200,000. The extra 50,000 was just a fund so that I wasn't broke afterwards.
  6. Once you get this ship it will be much easier to go deeper into space, but I would recommend that you get a few speed and shield generators so that you have a better chance to survive.
  7. kill higher level enemies and collect the ore that comes from their cargo and fill your cargo hold as much as possible, then refine the ore to get more expensive ore and then get more basic ore and repeat this a few times. Then go back to your space station and sell the ore, you should be able to make the upwards of 23,000 credits per run. I had made 37,000 before.
  8. Repeat the last step until you have enough money to fill up all of your ships weapon, generator, and extra slots and you will be set to go into deep space and possibly do some PVP.
